Mirror tiles may be used to create space and light for any wall in your house. Mirror tiles are amazing for giving the illusion of greater space and may look great in bedrooms or bathrooms, in addition to working as a terrific light reflector. Mirror tiles add a mirror-like effect to any wall or mirror. They can be installed in several different ways depending on if they are being applied onto a mirror surface, or onto drywall. The mirror tiles will need to be measured before application if they are not custom-made for the mirror frame size. A mirror frame is used often with mirror tiles to make the mirror look more custom. Mirror frame kits can be purchased from most home improvement stores, or they can be built from thin pieces of wood. After the application of mirror tiles is complete, a mirror frame will need to be applied around the mirror tiles for a finished look.

Step #1 - Measuring
Measuring the wall to be tiled is a crucial part of this process, and taking accurate measures will prevent you from buying too many tiles for the task. Calculate how many mirror tiles will be required to completely cover the area by recording the overall height and breadth of the wall in question. Although larger types are available for larger surfaces, most mirror tiles are square in form and measure 12 inches by 12 inches. Tiles are available at most local DIY stores. The mirror tiles should overlap so they will form a pattern that covers any imperfections on the mirror tile surface. If you wish to take this project into your own hands, mirror tiles can be purchased online or at most retail stores.
Step #2 - Choose a Pattern
After measuring the mirror wall, start applying mirror tiles onto the wall. You can use any pattern you want but check with your local hardware store to ensure that no patterns are forbidden. Although block patterns are the most popular among homeowners, diamond-shaped shapes are also an option. The more creative DIYer may want to push their abilities even further.
Choosing a suitable design will also assist you in purchasing the appropriate quantity of mirror tiles. Silicone adhesive is required for adhering mirror tiles to drywall surfaces and mirror mastic or mirror wallpaper paste is best for attaching mirror tiles to mirrors. If mirror tiles are being installed on a mirror, the mirror must be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and allowed to dry before mirror adhesive is applied.
Step #3 - Make a Plumb Line and Clean
This is an important step, as mirror tiles are very fragile. To start this process, make a plumb line with the help of a level to keep your mirror tiles lined up straight. Your mirror wall should be completely level, or your mirror tiles will not install properly. Use alcohol to wipe down the mirror before you begin tiling. Place five tiny incisions on the back of each mirror tile, one in each corner and one in the center, using heavy-duty double-sided tape. Remove the backing from the double-sided tape and align one edge of the tile with the straight line. To guarantee strong adherence, press hard against the wall.
Step #4 - Column-based work
Once your mirror tiles are stuck to the mirror, start at one end and work in rows from left to right and up and down. When you get to an area that has a corner or other shape, make sure that you do not cover it with mirror tiles. Cut mirror tiles so they can fit around these shapes. Use tile trims or mirror stickers as a border to finish the mirror.
Step #5 - Cleaning up
After you have installed mirror tiles onto the mirror, wipe down mirror tiles with alcohol and paper towels until dry. Allow mirror tiles adhesive to cure for 24 hours before handling mirror tiles again. Note: Mirror tiles are not safe for extremely high humidity areas.
Mirror tiles can completely change the look of any mirror. With careful measuring and preparation, installing mirror tiles is a relatively simple task that most homeowners can do themselves. Although there are many patterns and designs to choose from, it is important to make sure that the flooring wall tile is level before beginning tiling. Have fun with this project and be creative!
